College Boy Grey

Technorati Tags: ,college boy,

It’s nearly Christmas and my prodigal son has returned home to the nest from college to spend time with family. I miss College Boy terribly and having him home, having all three of my children together under my roof for the holidays is the best gift ever. All the chocolate diamonds in the world cannot compare, my heart is whole and content.

Tonight, I had to chuckle when I pulled his laundry out of the dryer. His “whites” are all the identical shade of “college boy grey”. I think while he is home this time I will introduce him to that old magical, miracle concoction known as bleach…

Another Page Is Turned, A New Chapter Begun

Yesterday I was finally able to close a chapter in the book that is the story of my life. The chapter was full of some really great parts and some not so great parts. The sum of those parts is how I came to be who I am today but it was a still a chapter that needed closing as today really is the first day of the rest of my life. This new chapter that is today and tomorrow is a fresh clean page and will unfold on this blog. If you’d like to follow along on the rest of my life’s journey and share it with me, please feel free to sign up for email notifications in the right column.

This blog is going to be about my life, my thoughts, my opinions and anything/everything in between. My journal. I’ve always had this driven need to write. Words make me incredibly happy and I am a self-professed sesquipedalian. Verbose. Loquacious. Wordy. I love big $5 words, I love archaic words and I love writing. Oddly enough, these loves don’t often go together and so I struggle sometimes to get my point across. It can take me for-ev-er to get from point A to point B. I’m a meandering writer. You’ve been warned.

I had a blog several years ago and I fell into the trap of making it into what others expected. Not this time. This time it’s all about me. I’ve made an agreement with myself to write what I want, when I want and how I want. I doubt I’ll post every day. One day I might simply post a photo of one of my gorgeous kids. The next time I might post a soapbox rant that’ll have my mom running for a bar of soap to wash out my potty mouth. Who knows? I don’t. I’m content to just let this blog evolve into whatever it naturally becomes.

Whether you are family, friend or stranger who clicked the random button, I hope you’ll stay awhile and get to know me better because I‘d love to get to know you better, too.

So here I go, another page is turned and a new chapter begun…
